10 Jan Clerestory Projects Group, Inc. to coordinate development, design and construction
Clerestory Projects Group, Inc. (CPG) serves in the role of Owner’s Project Manager and Owner’s Representative for capital improvement projects for Spartanburg County. In this role, CPG will coordinate all tasks and duties in the development, design and construction of the new Judicial Center, Emergency Operations Center, Municipal Court / Police Building, consolidated City Hall / County Government Center, and associated parking garages.
In the current phase, CPG works with the Court Consultant (Justice Planning Associates) to develop the overall spatial and operational programming for the capital projects. The facility program will become the basis for architectural designs. CPG is responsible for the daily operations of the capital improvement plan including project budgeting, scheduling, masterplanning and process flow. In addition, CPG will assist with Design and Construction Team selections and will monitor construction activities from groundbreaking to completion.
CPG is a Spartanburg-based Project Management Consulting firm formed in 2007 by Joseph Lauer. CPG’s management approach has been formed by Mr. Lauer’s experiences as a practicing licensed Architect, certified Construction Manager, Senior Financial Analyst, executive at a national Construction Management firm, Small Business Owner, Developer and Project Management/Owner’s Representative Consultant. Those experiences have occurred in both small and large companies, for public and private clients, on new and renovation projects, single and multiple-phase/year situations in the performing arts, education, athletics, healthcare, residential (single and multi-family), office, industrial and entertainment markets in Kentucky, Florida, Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, Massachusetts and South Carolina.
Mr. Lauer was formerly the executive-in-charge of the Linbeck Group (a national Construction Firm) and was Project Manager of the site selection, design process and construction activities (construction management at-risk) of the Chapman Cultural Center and masterplanning at both the Spartanburg Day School and Converse College.
In addition to the Chapman Cultural Center, Mr. Lauer and Clerestory have managed the design and/or construction (as Project Manager and Owner’s Representative) for many of Spartanburg’s most significant buildings over the last 10 years. These include:
